If you’re looking for a great place to retire, Florida should be at the top of your list. In fact, according to US News & World Report, three Florida cities, including Sarasota, make the list of the website’s top 5 cities to retire in 2020.

Ft. Myers

At the very top of the list for 2020 is Ft Myers. The ranking points out the median home price in Ft Myers is around $219,000, and more than a quarter of the population is older than 65.


In second place for 2020 is Sarasota.  A little larger than Ft Myers, Sarasota’s median home price is around $237,000. About 30-percent of the population is older than 65.

Sarasota NeighborhoodsAs a number of developers focus on creating large-scale communities across Southwest Florida, it’s some of the area’s small, enclave communities that continue to gain in popularity. For some buyers they’re the character-rich neighborhoods that are simply hard to pass up.
