Residents of Lakewood Ranch and Northeast Sarasota now have new shopping options along University Parkway! In addition to favorites such as Best Buy, Target and Kohl’s, you can now enjoy shopping at the newly opened Mall at University Town Center. The mall is located at 81 North Cattlemen Road, and it’s only been open since mid-October, so you’ll find it to be fresh, modern and new.
With over 100 stores to choose from, you’ll find whatever it is you’re looking for. The three major department stores are Macy’s, Dillard’s, and Saks 5th Avenue. The young, as well as the young-at-heart, will enjoy the two-story H&M on the premises. If you’re looking to outfit your home with the latest styles, or if you’re planning on registering for your upcoming wedding, you’ll appreciate the two-story Crate and Barrel.
Other stores that you might find interesting include Pandora, where you can buy a bracelet or one of the brand’s signature charms; Kate Spade New York, where you can get a great deal on a handbag or tote; and Everything But Water, a store specializing in swimwear and all of the accessories you need for a day on one of Sarasota’s gorgeous beaches. There’s a Moleskine store, for writers, journalers and those who simply love a great notebook, and The Art of Shaving, which carries gifts related to shaving for every man in your life.
Since you’ll want to spend the day shopping til you drop, you’ll need to stop and refuel at some point. The University Town Center has a lot of options when it comes to eating. Grab a quick slice of pizza at Rise Pies, or a plate of lo mein at Mandarin Express. If you’d like to sit down and stay a while, relax at the Kona Grill or Seasons 52. You can also grab dinner and dessert at the Cheesecake Factory. For special occasions, when fine dining is appropriate, try Sophie’s, which is located inside of Saks 5th Avenue, or the Capital Grille.
In addition to the stores and restaurants that are already located at the Center, there are a handful of other venues that are scheduled to open soon. These include Forever Nails and Spa, Natural Comfort Footwear, Talbots, Arhaus Furniture, and Burger & Beer Joint. Over the next few months, the Mall at University Town Center won’t be the same place twice!
