New Condos in Downtown Sarasota

Downtown Sarasota is undergoing a facelift! In an effort to bring more people to the area, many new condos, hotels and retail/office venues are popping up along the waterfront and in the downtown area. Some of the new condos are meant for luxury living, while others are trying to attract younger families to Downtown Sarasota. If you’re looking to claim a piece of this up-and-coming section of the city, here are some properties worth keeping an eye on.

 The Jewel

Located at Main and Gulfstream Avenue, the 18-story condo high-rise known as The Jewel is scheduled to be completed this fall. In addition to housing 19 luxury condominiums, there will be some retail space open in the building, as well. The open floor plans and huge floor-to-ceiling windows will make these condos a coveted piece of real estate. As of now, all of the units are purchased.

 The Vue

Another luxury complex in the works is The Vue. Scheduled for completion in fall of 2016, The Vue still has homes available for those wanting a condo with expansive views of the downtown area as well as Sarasota Bay. The building is located very close to the access bridge to St. Armand’s Key and Lido Key, so you’ll be be close to beaches and the world-famous shopping destination, St. Armand’s Circle, in addition to being conveniently located in the downtown area. Prices start in the $800,000s.

 One Palm Avenue

Downtown Sarasota could definitely use more hotel options, and the apartment/hotel complex planned at the corner of Palm Avenue and Ringling Blvd will meet that need, in addition to providing apartments in the area. With 141 luxury apartments, residents will have a secure drop-off and entry area. Hotel guests and residents alike will enjoy first-class amenities, including a private courtyard.

 Pending Projects

In addition to projects that already have permits and have begun construction, Sarasota has several other projects pending. If you are planning a move to the downtown area in the next several years, these might be worth keeping an eye on. They include Cityside, a complex that will house approximately 400 residential units between 6th and 10th; Aegis Court on 4th Street, which will offer six townhouses; and Villagio at Rosemary Place on Coconut Avenue, which is planning to offer 32 townhomes.
